Focus and Scope

ELP (Journal of English Language Pedagogy) is a scholarly journal dedicated to the advancement of teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL). While its primary focus is on EFL pedagogy, the journal covers a broad spectrum of interrelated fields within Education and Linguistics. It publishes original research articles, comprehensive review articles, and critical literature that contribute to a deeper understanding of the following areas:

- English Language Teaching and Learning: This includes studies on language acquisition, classroom practices, curriculum design, assessment, and the integration of technology in teaching English to non-native speakers.

- Language Teaching Methods: Articles exploring both traditional and contemporary methods for teaching English, such as communicative language teaching, task-based learning, and innovative approaches in the language classroom.

- Education Policy and Development: The journal addresses educational policies and their impact on language teaching, including curriculum reforms, language education policies at the national and international levels, and the development of English language programs in various educational contexts.

- Foreign Language Acquisition: Research on the cognitive, psychological, and social aspects of learning English as a foreign language, including second language acquisition theories, language transfer, and the influence of the first language on learning.

- Linguistics and Applied Linguistics: This encompasses a wide range of topics related to linguistics, including syntax, semantics, phonology, pragmatics, and discourse analysis, along with their application to language teaching. Applied linguistics research explores how linguistic theories inform teaching practices, language learning strategies, and assessment techniques.

The journal aims to bridge theory and practice in the field of English language teaching, offering insights for educators, researchers, and policymakers who are engaged in the development of effective language learning environments.
