Pelatihan Budidaya Jernang bagi Suku Anak Dalam di Taman Nasional Bukit Dua Belas

Bukit Dua Belas National Park (TNBD) is a vital conservation area that also serves as the home of the indigenous Suku Anak Dalam (SAD) community. Their dependence on forest resources without sustainable cultivation knowledge poses both ecological and social challenges. One promising non-timber forest product with high economic potential is Daemonorops draco (jernang), a rattan species producing valuable red resin. This community engagement program aimed to enhance SAD's capacity in jernang cultivation through participatory training held in SPTN II Resort II.D Muara Tabir. The training methods included initial socialization, field demonstrations, technical sessions, and monitoring and evaluation. Results showed significant improvement in participants’ knowledge, technical skills, and attitudes toward jernang cultivation. The program not only introduced a sustainable livelihood alternative but also strengthened the role of indigenous communities as strategic partners in forest conservation. Continued assistance and provision of cultivation inputs are needed to ensure the program's sustainability.
