The research benefits include determining the extent to which zakat contributes to improving the economy of the ummah and alleviating poverty. A qualitative research method was employed using literature review techniques with critical analysis of existing theories. The research findings highlight cases where zakat is managed through professional zakat management with the principles of Good Corporate Governance, encompassing four main principles: fairness, transparency, accountability, and responsibility. The results of the study indicate that zakat management can indeed enhance the economy of the ummah and contribute significantly, accounting for 29.76% of the national budget in the year 2022
