Edukasi Pemanfaatan Maggot Black Soldier Fly (BSF) untuk Pengelolaan Sampah Organik Rumah Tangga di Nagari Koto Hilalang

Waste is one of the environmental problems that is still a serious problem in Indonesia. Around 60-70% of Indonesia's waste comes from household waste, which has not been managed and processed properly. The management of household organic waste in Nagari Koto Hilalang is still not optimal, that it is dumped into rivers, burned, and piled up in temporary landfills. Therefore, it is important to increase public awareness of managing organic waste into materials of economic value by utilizing black soldier flies. This community service aims to educate the public about organic waste management. One solution to this problem is to utilize maggots as a bioconversion of organic waste. This activity was carried out in Nagari Koto Hilalang, Kubung District, Solok Regency. The method used in this PKM is to provide education through stages of socialization and discussion. The results of this activity have a positive impact on increasing public understanding of household organic waste. This can be seen from the enthusiasm and interest of the community in utilizing maggots as a medium for the bioconversion of waste into animal feed and organic fertilizer.
