Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of individual characteristics and job characteristics on
organizational commitment in the Solok City District Attorney's Office. The type of research used is
descriptive correlative. The data collection techniques used in the study were documentation and
questionnaires. The type of data used is quantitative data and data sources use primary data sources.
The data analysis technique used in this research is instrument test, multiple linear regression
analysis and hypothesis testing. The population and sample in the study were all employees of the
Solok City District Attorney's Office. Based on the analysis that has been done, it is found that Y =
2.514 + 0.414X1 + 0.536X2, which means that individual characteristics variables have a positive
effect on employee organizational commitment, while job characteristics variables also have a
positive effect on employee organizational commitment. Judging from the value of R (Square) 0.719
which means that individual characteristics and job characteristics have an effect on 71.9% of the
organizational commitment of employees at the Solok City Public Prosecutor's Office while 28.1%
are influenced by other variables not examined in this study. From the F-test analysis, it is obtained
that the Fcount value is 60, 152 and the Ftable is obtained at 3.18 (60, 152> 3.18), which means
that the individual characteristics variables and job characteristics together have a significant effect
on the organizational commitment of employees at the Public Prosecutor's Office. City of Solok.
